Today's dedicated blog comes to us from fashion lover, dedicated Crimson Mim shopper, and most recently, Lady of Mim (part-time employee:), Nancy Keith Kelly...
As a longtime customer, I’ve always wondered what it would be like to work at my favorite boutique. When Christine asked if I’d be keen to help out, I jumped/leaped/readily volunteered to be one of the Ladies of Crimson Mim, even if just for a few days. I was quite curious as to what it’s like to be on the other side of the counter, surrounded by amazing clothes and ever so alluring shoes.
In a word…it’s FUN!
I was amazed that I managed to find a ‘hidden gem’ each time I was on the floor assisting customers – whether it be the perfect tee or that amazing coat that looks every more amazing when it is off the hanger. My mantra for myself along with the amazing CM customers consists of three simple words. Try. It.On. You never know how it will look on YOU and it’s always better to try. Not everything will always work, but we all know the feeling of when we find something that does. (WHEEE!)
It was great to learn the new arrivals along with the back story on designers…who knew that Chie Mihara was born to Japanese parents, raised in Brazil and can now be found designing her line in Spain? Or that Rachel Comey’s clothes are just as comfortable as her shoes…no wonder folks have nicknamed her ‘Rachel Comfy’.
While I’ll freely admit that I had a blast, what stood out was meeting customers and helping them find something new and wonderful to add to their wardrobe. Especially when it’s something they never thought they’d wear. I’ve been in their shoes and that experience is what makes shopping at Crimson Mim such a special treat.
