A sense of community, and not just fashion, is very important to Christine Campbell, owner of Los Altos and Palo Alto-based clothing and shoe store Crimson Mim. In that spirit of community, the boutique will be hosting a free series of speakers this summer, Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. at the Palo Alto location, on numerous fashion and design topics.
The speakers will address commonplace issues in such as: adding color with your jewelry, eco-friendly fashion, women, power, wardrobes and a few others, all happen to be friends of Campbell. Campbell says each has a “huge amount of experience in their field.”
The first event of the series is tomorrow, July 19, led by Campbell herself and manager-marketing/ecommerce of Crimson Mim, CeCe Telesco, is titled “Packing Made Easy.” They plan to discuss alternative options for those who wish to comfortably spend their summer in Europe or other destinations, without the tackiness of running shoes and white socks, as well as ways in which to pack “the minimum amount of items and maximum amount of looks.” This is surely information every woman who has ever traveled for more than one day could utilize.
Campbell hopes the series will be “participatory events, not necessarily about shopping,” but “expose a broader sense of fashion” to customers new and old.
